what does chess represent to me?

well...that may be one of the better questions i've ever been asked.

what does chess represent to me?

I feel chess represents a key. a key to my mind. the liberation and change my conciousness has undergone since i began the endeavor of chess during xmas break of 2000 is still undergoing. Only because of this question have I really analyzed my growth from that moment. I guess i was busy growing:) Ultimately, my intellect, my wit, my persuit of knowledge in general, has grown exponentially since then.

my perception of self has evolved. It is a tool i use to keep myself sharp, and it seems the more i learn about the intricate workings of chess, the more i learn about the inner workings of me. It is my key:) I hope i don't sound like a loon:)lol:)
