The most amazing short chess game I\'ve ever seen was a mate in 2 after move 9 between two respected GM\'s(!) in the 70\'ies. It\'s short, plz grab a board, it\'s worth it!! 1 e4 c6 2 d4 d5 3 Nc3 dxe4 4 Nxe4 Nf6 5 Qd3 e5 6 dxe5 Da5 check 7 Bd2 Qxe5 8 0-0-0 Nxe4? black, feeling well about his position offered a draw and took a walk to check other matches. When he came back he was stunned: 9 Qd8 Check!! black resigns, either 10 Rd8 mate or 10 Bd8 mate. Amazing miniature!-

yeah many players open the F pawn on the king side , and invite a good check from the queen and bishop or knight-

If you witnessed this game in the 70\'s,that would make you about 50 years old Bold Beauty.A little old to be taking up ballet don\'t you think? ACTUALLY THE GAME WAS PLAYED BETWEEN RICHARD RETI AND SAVIELY TARTAKOWER IN 1910 IN VIENNA.That makes you a liar and older than mathusala!Another imposter-

I didn\'t witness it @windmill, I remembered reading it in a book, and playing it along on board. Apparently my memory is not very well, if you are right. Thanks for correcting me but you could have done it a bit more normal. I just wanted to show a nice miniature wich is printed in my memory without the date,if I remembered it all I would have mentioned the players. I thought Forums were ment to learn from each other, but I had a different style in mind. Anyway thanks for correcting, you have a good memory.-

Btw I collect chess books, more books about chess are written than about all other sports together, I hope I don\'t lie that. Many anecdotes are in them, because I was dumb enough to forget the date and players I will search the right book and page. I am sure the offering of the draw and taking a walk WAS a fact. Thank you for the nice youtube:)-

It is surely beyond belief that someone could place Richard Reti and Saviely Tartakower in the 70\'s.Especially someone who collects chess books.-

8Netherlands  BoldBeauty2012-03-16 10:32:38
I don\'t place Reti and Tartakower in the 70ies, I was unaware of the players. I don\'t have a timemachine like you windmill, maybe I can use it and give Reti a sigar for the miniature There are thousands of miniatures in my chessbooks, still I admit this is a special one wich I should have remembered with players. I will play Reti opening (1Nf3 for those unaware) whenever I play you to make it up:)-

Apart from it all I don\'t know what you are suggesting, I did remember the game didn\'t I. Do you suggest I knew the players but made a different story? Your suggestion that seeing a chessgame is being there really is silly, I\'m sorry. Reading my books I must have traveled around the world many times then, I want a timemachine too!-

The 70\'s was about 42 years ago.If you were 20 years old when you saw this game that would make you about 60 to 65 years old now.Could you put up a picture of yourself and give us your real name so I can look up your rating in the Dutch chess federation please?-

I didn\'t see this game in the 70\'ies, I can go on about jumping in time, but Windmill: tell me where did I say I saw the game in the seventies. I SAW IT IN A BOOK, the game from Reti and Tartakawer. I only remembered the walk and the offer of the draw wich i find very funny. In my mind it was a tournement in the 70íes. A lot of words for a simple problem: you think seeing a game is being there. Have some nice trips:)-

A tournament in the 70\'s????? Reti died in 1929!!!!-

13Netherlands  BoldBeauty2012-03-16 17:20:33
That was my last contribution to this paranoia problem. Feel free to come with a smashing end if it\'s that you want last word. My age I keep myself if that\'s it. I can say that I wasn\'t even in my dear mother\'s belly in the seventies. This isn\'t Facebook, a respected chess site, with social aspects, very nice, but for me to a certain extend and without calling people names -

I saw tounements in the 70ies and I saw the death of Reti in 1929 all in my books. Besides that we have all kinds of media for that. Windmill must have a huge imagination being there on all occasions. My previous contribution went double, don\'t know why so this ends my lovely chat.-

Your stories are full of holes and you know it.I got you.You may fool some people here but not me.By the way I was born in Kampen and I know that for the last 3 nights you have been making comments here at times of 3 and 4 in the morning. Are you sure you are from Holland?-

18Netherlands  BoldBeauty2012-03-16 17:48:43
Sorry maar ik reageer niet meer, wel in het Nederlands natuurlijk, Kampen , leuke plek. Jij hebt me erg goed door, nee ik zal niet nederlands zijn, dit klinkt meer Japans.-

19Netherlands  BoldBeauty2012-03-16 17:50:48
I know your real problem: me flying by with my winning streak, you really have a ego problem. Read some Reti books, maybe it\'ll help you the neccessary 20 Elo (for the moment)-

20Netherlands  BoldBeauty2012-03-16 17:52:53
Are you sure you were in Kampen? Wasn\'t it television?-
