Larry rightly believes that \" If black tries to solve the problem in one go with 23...Bb7, then 24.Rd7 trapping the Black King...\" and so on.
But after 23. ... Ke7 24.Rxc6 Bh3+ 25.Ke2
Bg2

White wins easily!

I firmly believe that this segment of the game was in serious trouble with time for both players, so it were not the strongest moves(21. Rd7 Bxd7)!
By the way, this game was awarded the \" Prize for beauty.\" I think if players have made the right moves - the result
(I mean prize) would have been the same!

Too hard? Too uncommon? What else?..-

After kai2011 has suggested that after 1.Rd7 Qd6!, I tried to justify that the only move for Black should have been 1...Bxd7. But after 1...Qd6! 2.Qxd6 Bxd6 3.Rxd6?? was definitely a big boo-boo! (as shown by kai2011). With the help of Fritz 8, the correct move should have been 3.Nxh7+ Rxh7! If let\'s say 3...Ke8/Kg8 4.Nf6+ Kf8 5.Nh7+, there\'ll just be a repetition of moves. After 4.Rxh7...

There appears a position where White has ways to go before he can realize his king side advantage of 2 isolated passed pawns because Black\'s 2 Bishops will definitely make things really difficult.

The solution given by kai2011 which is 1.Nd7! appears to be the right solution (as shown by his post above).

I want to apologize for giving the wrong solution and for blindly following the solution given in the periodical.

That will be fine kai2011. It\'s good to have other people posting their favorite puzzles in the forum. That way we\'ll have more fun together playing chess. :)-
