What Chess Represents For Me

by chesslayer1992

So what does chess represent to me? To me, chess represents everything, it is simply the best. Chess is a battle, a psychological battle at times, its about proving that your stronger. Chess is an ancient game, played by the kings, and now we play it.

I started chess since I was a little kid, with my grandpa, now I'm 15 and still playing and enjoying it. It is a thrilling sport with millions of moves, combinations, strategies and so on.

Chess for me is fun, social gathering, excitement, exhilirating sport, a battle, and the most...it is enjoyment.

I really hope you guys read this and like it since I recieved an email from you asking me what chess represents for me, and for me chess is simply the best game ever created.

What is chess to me?

by SoLo_FoRe

For me, chess is everything, it is my ultimate goal, it is the battle of wits, of mind and will. It is who gives up first, it is who plans everyhing out, it is a battle.

I started playing chess since I was 7, and got hooked, now Im 15 and still playing, my grandpa brought me into this game, and now I strive to be the best, I made a lot of friends playing chess.
At school at our chess club or just with some friends at home. I enjoy chess as a sport and as a social game, as a competition, or just for fun. Chess can be played young and old and thats the neat thing about it.

I dont know why, but for chess is simply the best game out there, it is outhinking your opponent, it is proving yourself stronger, it is trying to come up to the top. Chess can be described in thousands of words, but for me there is one word... and thats enjoyment.

Forever

What does Chess Represent for me?

by pepepeco26

Read more >>>

What chess brings to my life....

by doomclaw

For me chess is an expression of my mind and soul. With trillions of move combinations possible it allows me to show the inner workings of my mind and my opponents mind. Whether I am playing a friendly game against my brother or challenging someone half way across the world, I am able to communicate through chess as a medium. Chess even worked to bring together several of my life long friends when we first met in joining our high school chess team. Chess is in essence a place where knowledge and idea can be shared, uniting myself with other players from across the globe.

what is the chess ?

by pepepeco26

Faint-hearted king, sly bishop, ruthless queen,
Straightforward castle, and deceitful pawn -
Over the checkered black and white terrain
They seek out and begin their armed campaign.

They do not know it is the playerís hand
That dominates and guides their destiny.
They do not know an adamantine fate
Controls their will and lays the battle plan.

The player too is captive of caprice
(The words are Omarís) on another ground
Where black nights alternate with whiter days.

God moves the players, he in turn the piece.
But what god beyond God begins the round
Of dust and time and sleep and agonies?

of Jorge Luis Borges

What is chess to me?

by Chess80

To me chess is like a puzzle, between two people. If you're on the offensive you're constantly asked to find what the best next move will be based on what you have layed out in front of you, if your defending you have to find a good way to force your opponent to leave an opening, or wait for a mistake to surface on it's own and take advantage. The winner is the first to solve the puzzle, and as with all such things the further you can look ahead at the possibilities, the better you will be at it.
