Player: Ferdyrojo Subject: The Medusa gambit.
Why the Medusa gambit is not included in the thematic tournaments? The Medusa gambit goes like this: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g5(!?). Like any gambit, the sacrificial pawn can be capture or not; thus we speak of the accepted or declined play.

There are mainstream openings not included (for instance Sveshnikov Sicilian).
I think that maintaining database of all openings is more or less hopeless, it would be better if players could just setup initial postion (by move list or by position, TBD)....

I agree with both Ferdyrojo and Mekk.
More openings in thematic option, thank you! because are some very nice Openings missing ....
When I setup a tournament, I most often make it a thematic.
I want to try this special opening, if it is good, and maybe other players can find it is fun to play a new (gambit) opening.
I have for example started 'Budapest Gambit' tournament.
This is a 'correct' and a good gambit for black,
if does not want to play usual way after:
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5 <- Budapest Gambit
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g5 <- Medusa Gambit, in Ferdyrojo post.
I agree with Mekk, BEST WOULD BE, if setup thematic position
by playing the opening moves, like in AnalyzerWindow.
This is also the way for thematic setup at gameknot.com
