In round-3 Shirov (white) won his game against Tomashevsky. In a RuyLopez open variation Shirov got unbalanced position of N+B against R+P . Towards end black played a few weaker moves e.g 36....Qc3 instead of ...Qc4 and 38...Qc4 instead ..a4. Shirov also missed strong 39.Bd6! and played 39.Bg3? but after black gave chance again 40...Re2? (instead 40...Qc6 = )he won with 41.Bd6!
