No checking allowed. No moving into,through,and exposing your king to check. Win by running your opponent out of legal moves. Thoughts?-

No, LerouxJP ... but thanks for pointing out the confusion. I created the thread on behalf of neverherebefore, a fully legit non-premium member. Don\'t worry, anyone, if we meet across the board lol-

Is checkmating allowed?

6United  neverherebefore2017-07-04 15:02:17
no. victory by stalemate or resignation.-

7Canada  dsuttlesChessHere Moderator2017-07-05 05:07:07
Seems stalemate itself has a complicated history and even this century stalemate has been seen as logically a win (\'the ultimate zugzwang\') for the side administering it, the main objections being aesthetic. In which case, a chess variant awarding a win for stalemate but prohibiting checks and checkmate might satisfy both logical and aesthetic objections.

Do you do answers? How do you think it would compare with Losing Chess as a bit of fun? Or any other variant as a serious game?

8United  neverherebefore2017-07-05 18:07:02
I just thought it up not too long ago. I think it\'s as good as any other variant.-

I agree, except that it might be to difficult. I\'ll challenge you if you want to try.-

12Canada  dsuttlesChessHere Moderator2017-08-16 08:19:42
illegal = lose-

13Canada  HenriDeToi2017-08-16 11:10:24
Legal = win -

14Canada  dsuttlesChessHere Moderator2017-08-16 18:01:46
stale = win, according to the Variant rules

but the server would award a draw = ( hmm

illegal according to the Variant would be permitted by the server hmm
