Playing Style, Material Tendencies & Endgame Profiling
Khanin is a positional player with a dynamic tactical sharpness typical of the modern, engine-assisted generation. He exhibits exceptional competence in handling asymmetrical pawn structures, particularly those arising from the Advance French and open Sicilians. King safety and active piece play are central to his middlegame strategy; he is willing to accept structural liabilities or space deficits in exchange for active piece files and the initiative. His games display technical precision in converting minor advantages in rook and minor-piece endgames, coupled with defensive resilience when constructing defensive blockades in passive positions.
