Pavel Vladimirovich Tregubov is a French grandmaster of Russian origin, born on December 21, 1971. He represented the Russian chess federation until March 2023, when he officially transferred his federation to France. Awarded the Grandmaster (GM) title by FIDE in 1994, Tregubov has established himself as an elite tournament competitor, a highly respected team player, a FIDE Senior Trainer, and a prominent figure in international chess administration. He reached his career-high FIDE classical rating of 2658 in July 2008. His primary competitive and professional achievements include winning the inaugural European Individual Chess Championship in 2000 and co-founding the Association of Chess Professionals (ACP). As of May 2026, he holds a classical rating of 2543, a rapid rating of 2502, and a blitz rating of 2450.
