Nitzan Steinberg is an Israeli chess Grandmaster (GM) born on January 12, 1998, in Haifa, Israel. Representing the Israeli federation (ISR), Steinberg climbed through the national youth ranks, earning his FIDE Master (FM) title in 2011, the International Master (IM) title in 2013, and the Grandmaster title in 2017. His career-high classical FIDE rating of 2565 was achieved in November 2024. Born and raised in Haifa, Israel, Steinberg began playing chess at an early age and completed his primary education at the Hebrew Reali School. Showing rapid tactical acuity, he secured his FIDE Master title in 2011. By 2013, he achieved his third norm and was awarded the International Master title at the age of 15.

At the 2017 Gibraltar Masters, Steinberg delivered an outstanding performance.
