Biography & Major Career Milestones

Oro completed his requirements for the International Master title on June 30, 2024, at the Barcelona June IM tournament, where he finished in a tie for first with 6.5/9. At 10 years, 8 months, and 16 days old, he secured his place as the youngest International Master in chess history, a record he held until May 2025.
In September 2025, at the Legends and Prodigies tournament in Madrid, Spain, Oro earned his first Grandmaster norm. He finished the event undefeated with 7.5/9, achieving a 2759 performance rating. Playing Style, Material Tendencies & Endgame Profiling
Oro possesses a highly dynamic, concrete, and universal style of play, heavily informed by engine-assisted training and an innate sense of tactical calculation. His exceptional tactical speed is reflected in his high-level online blitz and bullet results, which include victories over elite grandmasters.
In the middlegame, Oro excels at generating active counterplay and concrete piece activity. He possesses sharp calculation skills and is comfortable playing double-edged positions. His games frequently feature thematic pawn breaks, particularly in the center. He exhibits no hesitation in accepting minor pawn weaknesses if they are offset by active piece play or clear developmental leads.
Oro's handling of king safety is pragmatic. While generally prioritizing safety through quick castling, he remains highly sensitive to tactical imbalances. When playing with White, he is capable of launching aggressive kingside pawn storms if his opponent's setup lacks central counterplay, utilizing early flank advances to disrupt the defense.
In the endgame, Oro displays exceptional technical competence and conversion skills. He is highly proficient in rook-and-pawn endings, active minor-piece play, and capitalizing on small positional pluses. His defensive resilience in inferior positions relies heavily on finding active counter-chances rather than passive defense, often posing practical defensive challenges to his opponents in simplified endgames.
Opening Repertoire & Theoretical Move Orders
