Playing Style, Material Tendencies & Endgame Profiling
Kollars possesses a universal, highly technical playing style typical of modern computer-era grandmasters. He prioritizes structural soundness and gradual positional pressure over speculative tactical complications. His defensive resilience in slightly inferior positions makes him a difficult player to break down, frequently steering complex middlegames into balanced or slightly favorable endgames.
Kollars is highly proficient in handling space advantages and utilizing minor positional weaknesses to restrict his opponent's counterplay. He is exceptionally strong in technical endgames, particularly rook-and-pawn endings. A prime example of his technical conversion was his final-round victory against Daniel Fridman in the 2022 No Castling World Masters, where he masterfully converted a rook endgame with an active king and an advanced e-pawn.
