The Real Time chess engine uses Timestamp Technology, if yours or your opponent's connection is not optimum, you will see his clock goes back to the time he actually played his move. This is called LAG. It doesn't mean that your opponent gets more time - it means that your opponent made the move in time and sent the move to the server with a delay (he is defiantly not getting extra time!!). Your opponent will deal with the same situation of clock goes back with your clock.
The end user connectivity to the internet has a great effect on the Lag during the game
In some situations of bad connectivity you can see your opponent clock comes to zero with no end game result. In this case it means that there is a Lag and you should wait until the real end of the game

USER INSTRUCTIONS

- To invite all players, simply choose your setting and click invite all - you will see your invitation as me in green color and named as public in the open invitations table
- To cancel a invitation that you have created click on cancel
- To invite an individual look for his name on the list and click invite
- To join a game simply click on join in the incoming invitations
- To reject click on reject
- To view a game click on observe in the active game window
- To chat to all player type your text in the dialogue box and click submit
- To start the game if you are the white player simply wait for the message prompting you to start
- To start the game if you are the black player click on the green button to Strat The Game

Create New Game!
This component makes it possible for you to choose the characteristics of the game that I'm interested in creating such as: Type of game: rated/unrated Time of game – you have the option of creating games that will last1/2/3/5/10/15/30/60/90 minutes
The color of your set and your opponent's set can be black/white or randomly chosen by the system Rating of the opponent you are interesting in playing against
Minimum amount of games opponent must have played
Chess Games Open Invitations
This table centralizes the invitations that you have created and sends them to those you are interested in playing against. There are two kinds of invitations: Private invitation – the private invitation lets you invite a specific online player by clicking on the Invite beside the name of the player. Otherwise you can be invited by another player when the private area is clicked upon.
Public invitation – When you send a public invitation everyone is invited to play with me, or anyone else can invite me to play along with everyone else. As soon as someone accepts this type of invitation, the invitation is cancelled and the area is seen as public. The way an invitation is accepted or rejected – It is possible to cancel an invitation made to you by clicking on reject. An invitation that you have posted is cancelled by clicking cancel. If you wish to accept an invitation and start to play then you must press play and immediately a new window will open with a fresh game.
Board Features
If you are the inviter: after your opponent press the play button for your invitation a new game will open automatically in the same window and you will have to wait for your opponent pressing the Start Game button! After you opponent press the Start Game button, the game will start only after your first move!
If you have been invited: After accepting your opponent invitation you will be asked to press the Start Game button to start playing once the " start" button has been pressed and your opponent has moved the clock will start
Messaging - Up the page you can see the text box for messaging – it will helps you to get the status of situations during the game Preferences - By clicking on the preferences button you can choose your preferences for the board – size/color and etc Important issues If you have internet explorer 6 and you are changing the windows size manually then you will have to press the board preferences size to get your pieces again
If you are closing the board during the game – you will lose the game (you have few seconds to return back the game without losing) You allow to play only one game in a time

This table centralizes all of the non playing players that are online at a given time. You can invite specific players by pressing on invite to the side of the player's name. Also, by point a player with your mouse you can see the game results: win/draw/loss with specific player

This table will centralize all of the games being played at the moment. you can watch the games as spectators.

Through the chat room you can carry on conversations with the online players in real-time

Later on a number of games will be enabled for premium players, along with other options for advanced players. If you have closed a chess game in the midst of a game, it will be considered a forfeited game. It is necessary to wait for a number of seconds until a chess board opens

Great Chess Exhibition on Chesshere.com to take place on the 1st of May 2008 17.00 EDT 22.00 pm (London Time)
Amir Bagheri (GM) will take on 2O of chesshere members in a simultaneous 60 minutes UNRATED game.
Amir Bagheri will play with White pieces. To hold the event, we need 20 volunteers to relay Amir's moves on the board. in order to volunteer as a relayer please give your name to Tomlib or any other moderators (asdghjk, systema lavongsa chess, impaler,slickycapo,dontcastle).
Moderators are expected to be relayers.

Rules For Joining a Tournament: |

| 1. | Only join the tournament if you have time to play all your games |
| 2. | Do not disconnect while registered and awaiting the tourney start |
| 3. | Do not start any game while awaiting your tourney to start |
| 4. | As usual computer assistance is forbidden and may result in your privilege to play in future tourney being taken away from you |
| 5. | If you decide to leave the tourney before it starts, please advise the TM |
| 6. | Once the tournament is full - all required player registered- the system will display a red notice on the left side of your screen advising you that your tourney match is about to start |
| 7. | once all players registered to the tournament, the board will open and the clock WILL START automatically |
| 8. | Should you decide to leave the tourney before its completion, you shall be penalized and it may affect your ability to join other events |
| 9. | In the event of an accidental disconnection (not you leaving the board) the system will give you 90 second to reconnect if you pass that time, the game will be considered as lost-you will still be in the tournament though |
| 10. | In the event a player leaving the tournament while running, anyone matched to play that player in future rounds will be granted a 1 point BYE |
| 11. | If you come across any bugs, please report them to contact. Remember this is a new feature and we need your feedback and constructive criticism |
| 12. | The tournaments are rated and results will affect your overall rating. Management will not reset any rating if the loss does not originate from a software malfunction |

- new free members will play 20 RTC games with 1400 rating before the system allocate them a rating. Their new rating will be based on the result of those past 20 games.
- The first 20 games will be rated for the new players and unrated For their opponent
- The reason for that is to avoid situation that new players manipulate the rating by playing with old members
- old members must be aware that if they are using Invite all, and a new free player will accept the invitation the game may be unrated for the old member. To avoid that they can choose to play with opponent with more than 20 games and in this case they can be sure that the game will be rated
- It is impossible to join a tournament unless you played 20 rtc games
- once you have played the 20 required games, make sure to logout and login to see your new rating displayed
