Getting started

ChessHere accepts new players in seconds. You can register with an email address or sign in with Google or Apple. The free tier covers everything most players need: live games, correspondence chess, puzzles, tournaments, and the opening trainer.

  • How do I sign up for ChessHere?

Click Sign Up in the top-right corner and enter an email address and password, or use Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. Account creation takes about thirty seconds, and you can start playing as a guest before completing registration if you prefer. Most features — live games, correspondence chess, puzzles, tournaments, the opening trainer — work on the free tier with no payment required.

  • How do I sign in to my account?

Click Login in the top-right corner and enter your email and password. If you registered with Google or Apple, use the matching button instead. Sessions stay active across browser restarts unless you sign out manually. If you can't remember your password, follow the password reset link below the sign-in form.

  • Can I sign in with Google or Apple?

Yes — both Continue with Google and Continue with Apple are first-class sign-in options on the web and in the mobile app. Linking a Google or Apple identity to an existing email/password account is supported in Settings, so you can use either method to sign back in. ChessHere does not receive your password from these providers.

  • I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

Click Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter the email address tied to your account. ChessHere sends a reset link that's valid for one hour; opening it lets you set a new password without needing the old one. If the email doesn't arrive, check spam and confirm the address matches the one used at signup.

  • Do I need to verify my email address?

Yes for full account features. ChessHere sends a verification email at signup; clicking the link confirms your address and unlocks email notifications, password reset, and certain account-recovery flows. You can play, train, and use most of the platform before verifying, but verification is required to keep the account in good standing long-term.
