Hey Everyone!

As you have noticed, we have a newly designed website for you! As with all major changes, there may be some things that need editing, so as you move along throughout the website, let us know if you see anything we missed!

I have made my move in this new updated design but when I/ move the move and cancel moves are greyed out & am unable to move. Is this a bug? Have to go on vacation to not time out. Please help.

Hi Hot_Tracy. I just replied to your email! Try a hard refresh on browswer and let us know which browser you are using, so I can have the programmers look into it further if a hard refresh didn't work.

We have tested Mac systems, Firefox, and Chrome so far.

Here's a simple article that shows how to clear caches and do hard refreshes on different browswers: https://refreshyourcache.com/en/cache/

To Force Refresh Browsers:

Windows: ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
Linux: F5

The programmers are aware of the Move and Reset button not working on some browsers. Please report which browser you are using if the hard reset didn't fix the issue for you. See instructions for hard reset above.

I don't like the new design. Its colors are dull.

Il nuovo disegno non mi piace. I suoi colori sono smorti

Thanks for your feedback, Rebussino!

Safari Users.. Here is a way to clear cache if you are having issues with game play:

For Safari need to clear cache

From menu click safari >> preference >> Advanced and enable "Develop" menu

Then From Develop Menu >> Empty cache

Thanks for your feednback, PopeInnocent. I am able to view other profiles and see finished games, so please email me your browswer/device info at support@chesshere.com so we can try to duplicate the issue on what you are using. Also, be sure you have completed a HARD reset on your browser and if using Sarari, also enable "Develop" option and click on "Empty Cache". That should do the trick.. if not, email me the details above! We'll get it !!

Wednesday, March 13th:

For Windows users, a hard refresh seems to be working for most, and for those who still have issues after HARD reset of browser, ALSO clearing the Cache gets it to work!

SAFARI and/or Mac users DO need to go one step further after HARD browser reset and Enable "Develop" option and click on "Empty Cache".
From menu click safari >> preference >> Advanced and enable "Develop" menu

Here are details for clearning cache and hard resets on all browsers:

marclyson and vipinkm..

If you have performed a HARD reset on your browsers and cleared your cache and things are still not working for you, please use the contact form on this website OR email me directly at support@chesshere.com with your device information and your issues.
99.99% of the players are seeing it work once they clear cache and do a HARD reset of their browser. Read the comments above on how to do those.
It does work, but if you have a specific issue on your devices, we need that information to look further into it. thanks!!

We have been getting feedback through emails and the contact form that 99% of the players are successful with the HARD refresh and clearning cache! yay!!

For those who it's still not working, please send specific details of the devices/computers you are using so we can now get the 1% working, too!

Use the contact form so that the programmers can see it, too!

thanks so much!! onward!!

Please clean up the player lists by removing those who've been absent for at least 90 days. Also please make sure players are not allowed to exceed their active game allowance. Thank you very much.

Neverhere.. thanks for your feedback. I have sent this request to programmers!

Also.. UPDATE: For those with promotion issues, that has been fixed! See instructions above in comments for how to do a HARD refresh and clear cache so that you can use promotion options now!! :)

There is the possibility that every user could lose access, not only to this site, but also to their bank/checking account and other important online institutions. Here is why, and how to protect yourself:

Most people who use any browser have the option to 'automatically save passwords'. This feature can be turned ON or OFF in the browser settings. For instance when you want to check your bank account you will notice that the password is shown as a bunch of asterisks like this: "*********".
As most people know, you should never use the same PW for more than 1 site. So you end up with a dozen different passwords which your browser remembers.

When you clear the browser it removes the cookies for all the sites you have visited AND therefore erases all the passwords it has saved.
When you log in you are suddenly asked to type in your ID and PW. What!? You don't remember all those different passwords? Of course not because the computer automatically put them in. But you just erased all of them because you 'cleared your browser!'

To avoid this horrible fate do this:
1) Open your browser and click on 'SETTINGS'.
2) Scroll down until you find the options for your passwords.
3) Every browser will have a setting to show all the sites you have entered and saved your passwords.
The list will include the name of the site and show
"*********" characters for them.
4) Scroll down the screen and you will see a box that you can check to change the asterisks into the real letters. (You may have to type in the browser's PW).
5) PRINT this list and put it in a safe place.

Yes, you have to do this before you have cleared your browser... but now you know how to never fall into that trap again.

Thanks for that information, abbyknot!
That has not ever happeened to me on my browser. I clear my cache and cookies regularly to keep my computer clean of the "gunk" that builds up.

But for those that what you are describing does happen, this information will be helpful to them!
Thank you again for providing it !!

I concur with post #9

I am posting this important message for our new members. Last year the previous owner suggested users to do a HARD reset on their browsers and clear your cache.

What she didn't realize is that if you do that you clean ALL the cookies AND PASSWORDS out of your browser!

Hundreds of members could no longer log into chesshere.com, NOR could they log into their checking account, nor their credit cards online.

This was a very regrettable mistake; to tell everyone to do a hard reset by completely cleaning their browsers without telling them to print out their passwords first.

That's when chesshere lost hundreds of members. Heck, they couldn't log in cause they removed their cookies and passwords.

PLEASE read post #21 above which I posted AFTER the crisis happened. I regret I did not catch that recommendation before so many members followed the advice.
